Who We Are

Chuck Burleson, Principal of Sustainable Project Management, LLC, has over 30 years of experience in design, construction and program/project management.  He understands design and construction processes from start-to-finish and recognizes that project and program management are process-driven practices, requiring a balance between attention to detail and an eye toward the big picture.  He is a successful team leader who stresses the importance of collaboration, clear communication and the willingness to pitch in at any level, wherever the need may be.  Chuck is a highly principled individual, confident in his abilities and opinions, whose mind is open to creativity and innovation.  He places the needs of faith, family and friends first and believes that the foundation of any successful project, just as that of contented and abundant living, is built on strong personal relationships.

Chuck spent the last two years as Senior Program Director for ADVENTpds, an Atlanta-based program and project management firm.  His focus was on management of and business development for corporate, commercial and retail facilities, managing projects for several corporate and institutional clients.   A large portion of Chuck’s professional career was spent as Vice President for Planning, Architecture & Construction at Turner Properties, a division of Turner Broadcasting, Inc. and Time Warner, where he led a project management team working on broadcast, technical and office facilities for the CNN Newsgroup and other Turner corporate groups.  In his ten years with Turner, Chuck was involved with or had oversight for approximately 500 projects totaling well over $350 million.

An important aspect of Chuck’s experience was as a member of the Turner Broadcasting Supplier Diversity Task Force.  He served a two-year term on the board of the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC).  Chuck believes that diversity in the workplace is not only the right and proper way to conduct business, but that it adds value to the bottom line.  The ultimate goal of diversity programs is to elevate diverse businesses to their rightful seat at the bargaining table in order to compete equitably in the marketplace.

Chuck is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), serving as program chair for the AIA Atlanta Principals’ Roundtable, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and is presently on the steering committee for the Green Business Works Expo.
